On our way from Nice, France to Florence, Italy, we had a brief stop in Pisa, which is famous for its landmark, the leaning tower of Pisa.
Now, although I’ve always known about the leaning tower, I didn’t realise that it stood next to other buildings, which was a pleasant surprise for me.
I honestly think that those other buildings are prettier than the leaning tower. But the reason why the latter is more famous is because of its unusual leaning pose.
So, when you’re in Pisa, the cool thing to do is still to pose with said famous landmark. But how would you pose with it? Like these guys?
Tips on How to Pose with the Leaning Tower of Pisa
(1) Choose the right angle for the leaning tower. Make sure you get the side where it’s obvious that it’s leaning, because otherwise, nobody will know what it is.
(2) You can push up the leaning tower or
(3) Kick it
(4) You can hold it on the palm of your hand or
(5) On top of your head
But make sure to take photos with the other buildings, too, even if other people don’t know them as much as the Leaning Tower.
Then buy a panino or folded pizza, so you can proudly tell other people that you once ate pizza in Pisa.
You can also buy one of the countless clever “leaning” souvenirs, or a pair of reflective sunglasses, like the ones Kes and I are wearing. When one of the gypsies try to sell you one, say “NO!” then when they ask you to name your price, give a low price, like 5 euros. You’d be surprised when he agrees, when another guy had said his price was 12 euros earlier.
And finally, when said gypsy asks you if your gay friend is your husband (in Italian, which you’re surprised to find, you understand because it’s close to Spanish, which you know a bit of), try hard not to laugh as you say no, even more so when when he asks you another question – is he half man, half woman? 😂
