We had a really fun team building activity last Friday night – a game called Bubble Soccer. What is that, you ask? Bubble Bump Singapore has this to say:
Originally born in Norway, Bubble Bump Soccer is a safe and exciting new game that has taken the world by storm. The craze has hit USA, Europe, Australia and it has finally arrived at the shores of our sunny island, Singapore.
Bubble Bump Soccer is a unique version of soccer with a twist: Each player is enveloped inside a giant plastic bubble. This makes kicking the ball even more entertaining, especially when you start bumping into each other, or find you and your friends upside down!
BUBBLE BUMP SINGAPORE is the largest provider of Bubble Bump Games in Singapore. We guarantee a lot of laughter and A LOT OF BUMPING. Our Bubble Suits are very versatile and there are endless possibilities on how you can play with them!
We booked a Bubble Soccer session with 10 bubble suits for an hour for S$295 inclusive of the rental of an indoor court at Kallang Cage. There were only 8 of us, though, but I think 10 was the minimum package.
The Bubble Bump facilitator helpfully took photos and videos for us using the camera I brought (though she also took photos with her own phone), so I compiled all our Bubble Soccer footage into the Youtube video below.
Since your head is inside the tube, breathing can get a bit more laborious than normal, and the plastic smell is quite strong – I guess these are just a few of the things to note. Oh, and you’re pretty much safe from harm inside the bubble, but since your legs are not protected, if you land on your knee it can still hurt.
If you’re not able to watch our Bubble Soccer video, let me reiterate some of the things I mentioned in it.
We played 3 different games.
(1) Soccer without rules
This was just plain old soccer, just that you have a bubble around you, which makes moving a bit more difficult than normal. I guess this is the popular bubble soccer game that started the whole bubble bump thing. The last time I played soccer was in elementary, so this wasn’t exactly easy for me, so I just let my teammates do most of the scoring. 😁
(2) Get to the other side
This game involved getting everyone on the team to the other side. This wasn’t bubble soccer anymore since the soccer ball was not involved at all, you just had to watch out for everyone else. Since there were 3 guys on my team I let them handle the defense and just did offense and basically just ran to the other side without trying to bump into anyone on the other team. 😁
(3) Last man standing
This time it was every man for himself. I was the first man down because Nic decided to tackle me first to “put me out of my misery” as he put it. He ended up being the last man standing, as expected.
It was a lot of fun, and each one of us even got a certification of completion with a discount coupon afterwards.
Kallang Cage has its own shower and toilet, and they even have free sample bottles of Clear shampoo, so if you bring your own towel and a change of clothes, you can freshen up after a game thats sure to make you sweat.
I highly recommend Bubble Soccer for team building or something new to do with friends. Go book a session now! 😉
