Yesterday, Dred didn’t want to have lunch at home because it was too boring, so we walked to Marine Cove at East Coast and got intrigued by Hill Street Coffee Shop.
There were so many interesting items on their menu so it was hard to decide what to eat! We eventually ordered these:
Nasi lemak – this was Dred’s order so I didn’t get to taste it. I tried this before at their Gardens by the Bay branch and it was quite good.
Minced pork noodles – this was okay, but not as good as others I’ve tried. Quite disappointing, actually.
Pork bao – this was really yummy! Definitely gonna buy this again next time.
While eating, we talked about things like our hopes and dreams and our answers to this question I found on instagram:
It’s funny how at every stage of your life, the answer to this changes subtly.
Then we went home and Dred said she wanted to journal about this and ended up watching Netflix instead. I was also supposed to blog but I ended up rearranging and cleaning my bedroom.
I love how my bedroom is arranged… for now. Let’s see how I feel a few months from now. 😅
Then we had to rush to The Cathay to watch the film Get Out. This movie is a horror comedy – I know, what a weird combination – which intrigued us because it has a 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The movie was good, though we thought the ending could have been better. Also, it was ruined for me because my teammate had already told me what the plot twist was all about, and that reveal is one of the major reasons why people like it.
I mean, just imagine watching Sixth Sense but knowing right from the very start that Bruce Willis is a ghost – doesn’t that ruin the movie for you?
Oh, shoot, I hope I haven’t ruined Sixth Sense for you but in my defense, that movie is over 10 years old so if you haven’t seen it, that’s on you and not on me.
Then while walking around The Cathay, we saw a shop called Hip Van and ended up turning it into a photo studio. 😅
Now I want those prints up on my bedroom wall!
I didn’t buy them, though. I bought a dusty rose duvet cover instead. The color is “dusty rose” okay, I did not buy a dusty duvet cover. Just in case it wasn’t clear!
Then we bought some takeout at Popeye’s Chicken and went home to eat them in our living room while watching another movie, this time on Netflix – Good Luck Chuck. This is a light rom com which I saw in the cinema years ago. It’s not my fave, but okay if you just want something light to pass time with.
It was a pretty sweet Sunday.
