I asked my friends Jemma and Maybelle to dinner on New Year’s Day, and at Mayb’s suggestion, we met up at RedPan in Marina Square with their friends.
Redpan specializes in Singaporean dishes with a Western twist. They change up the menu every few months, so not everything we ate that day is available anymore.
We ordered lup cheong iberico chorizo paella, bak chor foie gras pasta, steak & chinchalok, prawn & hae bi hiam pasta. We thought everything tasted great. I loved the bak chor pasta the most, but I am biased because I love bak chor mee. The rest preferred the hae bi hiam pasta.
We also ordered two desserts, our fave of which was the banana donuts milo dinosaur.
The other one was a teh halia creme brulee which didn’t quite hit the spot.
Jemma and I were wearing similar dresses so we did the twinning emoji pose. 👯♀️
After dinner, we walked over to the Prudential Marina Bay Carnival to check out this fair that’s only available until April 2018.
But before we got there, we had to pass by the merlion park first.
When we got to the carnival, nobody was in the mood to take rides, so we just walked around to take pictures.
Jon and his younger brother tried to play some games, but you know how these carnival games are – they’re usually rigged so it’s hard to win, so they didn’ go home with any of the stuffed toy prizes.
I enjoyed going somewhere new for New Year’s. I hope that’s a sign that I’ll be going to many new places this year! 😊
