My former teammate Carly is leaving, so she set up a drinks session at Drinks & Co at 44 Club Street on the Friday night before her last day, which was last night.
Aside from my team (all her former teammates), a few guys from other departments came by.
It was my first time to go to this place and I was impressed with their huge selection of affordable wine displayed on their racks.
We asked one of the waiters to recommend a good sauvignon blanc and he showed us their bestseller, so we ordered that.
I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of it so I can’t remember which specific brand and year it was, but it costs around $45 a bottle and it tasted pretty good.
The boys also ordered a couple buckets of beer and their buckets were interesting because they came with different kinds of beer instead of just the same thing.
They also had a food menu which had substantial food and not just bar bites, which was great because we hadn’t had dinner yet.
We ordered a mixed grill platter and skinny truffle fries. I was impressed at how good the food was. Usually cheap drink places like Wine Connection, for example, don’t usually have good food. My fave was the beef and the truffle fries.
It was fun reminiscing when we asked everyone about their first impressions and interesting stories from the past 3 years of knowing her got brought up.
While I was talking about one of our first moments – biking in the rain in Pulau Ubin – I remembered that it was that moment when I first thought: this Carly is cool.
Last night was our first time to meet Carly’s boyfriend Arthur and he’s a pretty cool guy, too. He and Carly are a good fit.
Then someone bought a bottle of vodka and I should not have had some of that because – well let’s just say, note to self: I am never ever having vodka again ever.
Fun times overall, though.

The grill platter looks good and it seems you had a wonderful time there.
