Two days before my birthday, I got a call from our office receptionist that I had a delivery. I jumped up before realizing – wait a minute, I didn’t order anything.
When I reached the reception area, I was handed a bouquet of fresh flowers from Enchanted Tree. I was so elated because flowers are my favourites! But who could this be from?
I tried looking for a card but there was nothing. So I asked the receptionist and she said it came that way, which immediately made me suspicious.
That doesn’t make sense, how would she have known that it was for me, then? I don’t think the delivery boy would have verbally given her my name, right?
Just then, Jemma showed up.
“This is from you, isn’t it?” I said. She swore that it wasn’t.
I asked her to take my pic with it.
She then said that she was on her way up to our floor’s pantry. When we got there, she insisted that I should come with her then led me outside the other door of the pantry and into my boss Evelyn’s office, where my team was assembled with a cake and a greeting on the white board. 😮
Here’s my team:
Here’s a closer look at that very pretty cake from Prima Deli:
I’m pretty sure Yan Ming chose it. He always chooses cakes well.
But that wasn’t it, there was one more gift:
The “long staying award” is actually a spoof of my office 5 years long service award. 😂 It’s because I’ve stayed in Singapore for 10 years now.
Here’s what’s on the flip side:
This one is obviously Guohao’s brainchild. He is always great at coming up with creative funny ideas and doing “Photoshop” using MS Paint.
My team is the best!
Of course I had to take a photo with Jemma too.
So grateful to my team and to Jemma for the surprise! 😊
