My friends Rey and Monica took a vacation in Hong Kong over the weekend and we had a fun reunion as I toured them around.
Highlights:
- I ordered Banana Q podcast t-shirts for us three to wear on our first day
- We had our first meal at Jollibee, Rey’s fave Filipino fastfood which has no branches in Japan, where they are based
- We rode a hop-on, hop-off tour bus and went up The Peak and Stanley
- We had roast goose at The Peak and sent off postcards at the post office
- We took a ferry ride to Tsim Sha Tsui so we could catch the light show, but found it underwhelming
- We saw the hand prints on The Avenue of Stars
- I stayed overnight at their hotel because they were upgraded with an extra bed. We watched a murder movie on TV while eating Bakehouse egg tarts and drinking a free bottle of red wine
- We ate dimsum at Tim Ho Wan (we found an airconditioned one)
- We found it to be too hot so we decided to watch a movie (A Haunting in Venice) in the cinema so we could keep cool
- We walked around Mong Kok and had a yummy dinner at a random cha chaan teng
- We got foot massages in Wan Chai
We also made a podcast episode about it which you can listen to below:
