Kes and her family were in Hong Kong to watch Messi play football over the weekend, so we had lunch on Saturday before they watched him. They were not able to buy tickets to the actual game, but just to the practice.
They wanted to meet up at Causeway Bay, so I asked some friends if they knew nice restaurants in the area and someone suggested Lua, a Vietnamese restaurant, so that’s where we met.
We had some pho and grilled skewers. I put too much chili sauce in my pho and ended up not enjoying it.
The food was decent enough, but the service was atrocious. First, the grilled platter that Reynald ordered took a very long time to arrive. The rest of us who ordered pho were done eating our food before his arrived.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough, it was missing tiger prawns. When we asked where it was, we were told they didn’t see that it had been ordered. What? When it’s part of the set?!? It was an order we made through their website so we were able to double check that we did order it – we thought we had made the wrong order but nope. Definitely there.
Then we ordered dessert and again it took forever to get served. When we followed up, the waitress looked lost. After some more time waiting I said we should just cancel it, but then they said it was on its way.
Luckily, we were too engrossed in our conversation to be too bothered.
I loved Keso’s stretchable bracelet, by the way. I wish I could find one just like it! Manifesting!
After lunch, we walked towards Isa Boutique, a luxury brand outlet store. Kes nearly bought a Gucci scarf, but her husband said that at 2000+ hkd, it was too expensive for a scarf, so she changed her mind. She ended up buying a couple of 80 hkd no name wool scarves down the street. I bought a fox fur neck thing at the same store.
Then we had to bid goodbye so they could go watch Messi practice.
I ended up getting a takeway from Eggslut before heading home, where I ate it for dinner later. It was my first time to try it, I liked it!
