My friend May randomly discovered a really affordable hair salon all the way at Yuen Long called JT Hair Salon. She likes their service and price, so when she said she was going back to get her hair colour redone, I asked to join her. We did it the Sunday just before Chinese New Year, so the place was packed. She called ahead for reservations.
I wanted to have blonde streaks, but the stylist said my hair was too damaged for that, so I settled for a nice light brown instead, per his suggestion.
The whole session which included a trim, foil highlights, a scalp treatment, and a blow dry lasted around 4 hours and cost 1,244 hkd. The same treatment would cost over 5000 hkd in a name brand salon, so I think it’s worth the one hour bus commute.
May said I need to buy purple shampoo to prevent my hair colour from going brassy, so I ordered the Olaplex one from HKTV. I don’t know why I never did so before!
