I finally decided to have some past pictures scanned and post them here:
March 2005
I have always been fascinated by horses. I especially like the sound of their clip-clopping hooves. So although I’m terrified of falling off one, I vowed that someday, I will ride a horse!
I finally got my wish last March 19, 2005.
Armed with slightly sketchy instructions from my officemate on how to get to Tagaytay, I somehow managed to get there, all alone and on my own, without getting hopelessly lost.
Candy, a friend I hadn’t seen for more than a year, met me there. She and I went to picnic grove, where the horses were. We each mounted a horse with the help of some guides. I was really scared then, but the guides, who are just kids, made it look so easy!
They led us towards the mountainside overlooking Taal lake. My heart was thumping as loudly as the horse’s hooves were clip-clopping, but towards the end of my ride, I was beginning to really enjoy myself and actually wishing I had my own horse. I didn’t want to get off the horse though my hips were aching from the ride.
After that Candy and I sat by the mountainside and ate bananas while catching up on each other’s lives.
But I was never one to sit still for long. We took a look around and I found – wow, a rollerblading rink! Now I had never ever skated before in my entire life, so I wasn’t about to let this opportunity slide me by again.
A few minutes later, I was clumsily clomping my way over to the rink with my feet strapped into rented rollerblades, with Candy following suit.
I’d love to say that I made graceful arches and figure eights, but I barely managed to walk in those horrid things (they cut off the circulation around my ankles), much less glide.
It was kinda fun, though, but it was beginning to rain so we kicked off our wheels before our hour was up.

Let’s just say that when you’re with Rey, strange things are bound to happen. I mean, would I, on my own, wear a sash of Safeguard Papaya across my body like some Ms. P&G pageant contestant and have a picture taken infront of TGIF? No siree. That was all Rey.
What, you didn’t know I had a twin? I do. In my dreams. But if she were real, she’d look exactly like, well, me, obviously. And she’d be sipping this chocolate milkshake too. Yum! Optical illusion courtesy of Rey, once again.
