“Brrr! It’s cold in here
There must be
some mint green in
the atmosphere”
That was how our team (mint green) started off our cheer, which was the first contest for the MSC Sports Day which happened last friday. All MSC (Manila Service Center of P&G) employees who signed up for the sportsfest rode in buses to Club 650 in Libis at 12 noon, garbed in different colored shirts that represented our team colors.

After the cheering. we headed off to different games –> basketball, badminton, wall climbing, and team relay. There were also four fun games for individuals where you can score additional points for your team –> shoot a tic-tac-toe, dart a balloon, shoot ring hoops and bat a baseball. I scored 41 points in these. My main event, though, was badminton. I played four games in all, losing the first two and winning the last two. In the end, our team didn’t place in the overall. Oh well. At least we got free shirts (our mint green one was envied by lots because of its pretty color) and thera-bands (which is used in pilates and other exercises).
Still, it was fun, and I was happy enough to hear many people saying that I was good in badminton. My my, and to think I used to not want to play with other people because I thought I was a wuss. So starting next week, I’m joining the rest of my departmentmates in their badminton games. Last Thursday was the first time I joined them, at 7am before we went to work, and I had fun! Before it used to be just me and Maya whacking the shuttlecock back and forth without scoring, until the day I found out I was playing for real and we started scoring. Maya is better at me that’s why I like playing with her. It’s no challenge and no fun when you’re pitted against someone you can easily beat.
Speaking of Maya, I was so happy when she decided to sign up in the same gym as mine. So now we can go together, and I would have motivation to go everyday. Maya has been my weight loss buddy eversince. Back in College, I only started dieting because of her. She had decided she wanted to diet, so I said I would too, and that was how I became thin. Well, not exactly “thin” because I’ve never been truly thin in my entire life, but at least not chubby. Now we are back to pre-College weight, and we are both very unhappy that’s why we decided to do this. I hope this time, our team up will succeed again.
