It was our college classmate Shai’s birthday on March 3, so the day after that she invited us to a celebration in Padi’s Point, Novaliches, somewhere far away we’d never been.
Since there were four of us (Chu, Maya, Zenie and me), we decided to take a taxi. We got there at promptly 9pm, but Shai wasn’t there yet.
We were so hungry already that we ordered dinner before she came. Then when she did, we joined her and her other friends at their table. We ate yummy pizza that tastes like 3M (sure miss that from the KPMG days), drank iced tea/juice and just sat around suffocating in the cigarette smoke while listening to the earsplitting music of the band.
Shai’s other friends must’ve thought we were boring. We didn’t even drink beer or dance up front. But hey. It just wasn’t our thing.
Still, we did have fun in our own way. So thanks so much for inviting us, Shai! Happy birthday!
