Eversince I officially changed roles at work this month, I have found myself working overtime everyday. Last Thursday I went home at 11pm and was back in the office at 6:30 am the following day. This is part of the learning curve, I tell myself. I was the one who asked for this role. I wanted this. So all I can say is: be careful what you wish for because it just might come true.
Anyhow, despite all the long hours, I have found time to have a life, so to speak. Work-life balance, as our new general manager puts it. So in a nutshell, my October trips.
AP Surprise Despedida/Welcome Party
October 3
Our department pulled a surprise party for those leaving and entering our group. We said goodbye to Gem, Bryan & Jo (whose old role I took over) and welcomed our new boss Joel (who took over Gem’s old role) at the function room in 3 Salcedo Place, where one of our departmentmates has a condo unit.

Zirkoh Comedy
Oct 6
On a boring Friday night, Yen, Gelle & I planned on watching a movie. On the way to the cinema we run into Caloy, and we invite him to join us, which he did in a heartbeat. The movie was booked, so after dinner we decided to head to Zirkoh, a comedy bar in Timog. We laughed till 3am at the jokes of celebrity stand up comedians Allan K and Gladys. Definitely not a boring a Friday anymore.

TG’s in TaGaytay

Thom initiated this crazy plan out of the blue. You can read more about it here.
Friday the 13th Overnight
Oct 13
To celebrate Yen’s birthday, I planned an overnight at Liza’s place in Rizal. Aside from our barkada, we also invited some of our officemates that we have lunch with occasionally. Fun people plus magic sing plus food plus liquor plus charades equals one memorable Friday the 13th indeed.
food + drinks + videoke = fun!!!
