Last March 1, Rey (which means king, hence this blog’s title) had a layover flight in his favorite city among all the places he’s been to as a flight steward… which happens to be where I live. Come to think of it, his verdict is part of the reason why I decided to give coming here a shot.
Just his luck, it was a very rainy night, but still we managed to have dinner at a HongKong streetfood restaurant at Liang’s Court and dessert from an ice cream cart on the Clarke Quay sidewalk before proceeding to Vivo City Mall to window shop for tech stuff and have coffee at Starbucks and “supper” (the Singaporean term for midnight snack) at Marche.
I love Marche‘s ambiance and crepes! It is not your typical restaurant set-up in that it has several clusters of cooking stations that you have to visit to get your order, and each time you order, your food card gets swiped, and you will pay it at the counter. Note to self: go back there!!

Then he was back in Singapore last Wednesday, but he was tanner than the last time we met because he had gone surfing in the gold coast (Brisbane, Australia) before coming here. I AM SO JEALOUS!!! Can I be a flight attendant please???
Anyway… I was aghast when I found out last Sunday that he had never been to Sentosa island, my most favorite place in Singapore. So I decided to bring him there to see the best show I have ever witnessed, Songs of the Sea. It’s so great that I’ve seen it three times before and don’t mind seeing it again.
We made it to the last show just in time. After that, we walked around the beach for a bit, and Rey had a photo op with the famous Siloso beach letters.
Then we headed to Clarke Quay, where we ate ice cream bars while sitting on top of the walls beside the bridge (I still can’t believe I managed to climb it in my dress!) then had dinner at this really expensive Thai restaurant. Thank goodness Rey was nice enough to pick the tab or else I would’ve died.
