I couldn’t sit still the whole day because I was so excited for work to be over and I could rush over to the IT show in Suntec and finally buy a laptop worthy of my childhood dreams.
While I was still studying, we could not afford a computer, so I used up all my computer lab access card hours and my allowance just to be able to rent a PC to surf the net or make my school projects (100-page termpapers, anyone?). I promised myself then that someday I would buy my own computer.
Two years ago, I was finally able to do that. But I needed to buy it so that my brother could use it for his review, and he was supposed to turn it over to me after a couple of months. So I bought the cheapest laptop I could afford at that time, which was not exactly what I really wanted. Still, I made do with it, though I didn’t really love it.
But eversince I came here, my brother has been bugging me about getting a new laptop and giving him the old one. I thought I wouldn’t be able to do that for a long time till AA offered to have it charged to her card on zero percent installment. So now, both my brother and I can be happy.
Chi, AA and I met up at the Suntec convention center and first headed for the Bodyshop warehouse sale where we filled up our plastic bags with body butter and makeup and everything else for sale. Then when Cate and Cheryl arrived, AA and I left so we could go and buy my laptop.
When I initially came here, I thought what I wanted was a small laptop, preferably the Vaio one, but I fell in love with Mac that day that Rey and I went window-shopping for laptops in Vivo City and I realized that a white macbook was cheaper than a small Vaio. And the fact that whenever I asked the question: “Mac or Vaio?” everyone replied “Mac!!” was also an important factor in my decision.
Apple regulates its prices so even at the IT show there was no discount, only freebies. We bought my mac from Planet World which offered a free crystal case, screen guard, keyboard protector, slip case and three years warranty.
My mac. Those two words make me so giddy like you wouldn’t know. I’ve decided to name my mac Alexe, as in Alexe Mac, like that character from the TV show of my childhood. Isn’t she a beauty? *__*
