Every Wednesday is “fruit day” at the office. We each get two pieces of fruit on this day, always a banana and one other fruit. Today it was an apple. And today it was our last fruit day.
We can get free Cokes (three kinds) and Iced teas (three kinds) and Milos and Mineral waters from the vendo in the pantry. But that’s only till this month. Next week there will only be filtered water and coffee and hot chocolate. Starting next week I can no longer save a buck and a half on a drink with my meals.

Our company’s latest cost-cutting strategy is to stop giving free fruits and canned drinks to the employees. How sad. But I guess it’s less sadder than seeing an employee go. So I do hope it does save someone’s job. Who knows, it might even be mine. 😮
