So yesterday was World Book Day, and Singapore’s National Library held a book exchange event. For every book you give, you can get one in exchange. So last Friday, I lugged 8 old books that I had to the Cheng San Library and got 8 coupons for them, and the day after that, headed to the big library on Victoria street and went book shopping. I brought along my flatmates Cate, Cheryl and Gelle and we had a fun time rummaging for books to take home. I was so happy because we got 8 great books for the 8 not-so-great ones I used to have. I would’ve been happy even if Sidney Sheldon’s If Tomorrow Comes was all I got, since it was what I wished for when I got those coupons. It’s my favorite Sheldon novel, and aside from that, it has a history in my life.

After going to the library, we took the opportunity to look around Bugis, which we don’t frequent. We loved Bugis Junction’s “you think you’re outside on the streets but you’re actually not” design. Afterwards, we headed to Lucky Plaza and had dinner at Filipino Cafe, then walked around to window shop and help Gelle find wedding bands for her and Joey. We even traipsed through Tiffany’s and wanted to get some croissants. We had some Gelatissimo gelato for dessert before going home. I didn’t particularly like it, though. Tom’s Palette still tops.
