Julius, who was my batchmate in AdZU, came to Singapore to visit his sister who is working here and to have a vacation as well. He is also an OFW but based in Kuwait, and he had just come from the Philippines. When he asked to meet up with us, Cate and I rounded up the Ateneans he knew (or didn’t) based here and met him in Sentosa last May 2. Surprisingly, a lot of people showed up.
While there was daylight, it was just Julius and his sister, Cate, Tatsie, Chi, Ngangi and me who met up. We spent the afternoon walking around the island and taking rides, though I didn’t ride the luge and the skyride due to budget constraints. I could not resist renting a bike though. It’s so much cheaper at S$5 an hour compared to the luge which costs twice that much for half that long.
For dinner, we were joined by Tyne, Rodel, Elma, Brian, Anne and Mark. It was my first time to meet my high school classmate Elma since we both came to Singapore. No wait… I think it may also be my first time to meet her after High School graduation, though I could be wrong. Her fiancee Brian was the only non-Zamboangueno in our group. We watched Songs of the Sea (my fifth time), and then got toured inside Siloso Beach Resort where Anne is a manager, and between two guys with SLR cameras, had lots and lots of pictures. We were all sweaty and tired at the end of the night but it was really really fun.
