Cate, Tatsie, Gelle, Tyne, Dada and I volunteered to help collect donations for the victims of the typhoon Ketsana or Ondoy in South East Asia through the Mercy Relief organization. We stationed ourselves outside the Toa Payoh MRT station with our coin cans, giving stickers in exchange for donations (that’s how they do it here in Singapore). It was so touching to see people donate, especially those who tucked in bills into my coin can’s slot even when I did not say anything to convince them to do so. I just stood there with a smile forever fixed on my face, like some cheerleader. There was even one guy who came from behind me and dropped a ten dollar bill. May God bless his soul. I hope we’d be able to help the typhoon victims, somehow. A little love goes a long long way, after all.
Got Mercy?
