Chi’s Peanuts and AA’s Shrimps
Gelle and I hung out at the Chi’s and AA’s flat this afternoon. Chi boiled peanuts in their kitchen and we were all surprised to find out for the first time that it takes some 2-3 hours to cook boiled peanuts. In the living room, we watched Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, an old international award-winning indie film which I’ve always wanted to watch but only now had the chance to do so. The setting was so cozy that certain people fell asleep on the couch.

When she woke up, she finished cooking our dinner – buttered shrimps! Her friend Jam had given her the instructions on how to cook it. To everyone’s delight, it turned out great. Congrats, AA! Pwede na talaga! I’m so happy a lot of us have learned to cook here in Singapore. Coming here has certainly made us grow up.
