One thing I love about Singapore is how organized their commute system is. You can use just one EZlink card to pay for all your fares, and you can “top up” your card at all train stations. You can call to book a cab to pick you up at any time of the day. All the train lines (red, green, purple, yellow) connect seamlessly so that you don’t have to leave the train station when you switch from one line to another. The buses are numbered and each bus station is equipped with a list of all bus numbers that stop there as well as each of those buses’ routes so that if you get lost, you can just find the nearest bus station and look at that list to figure out how to go anywhere. And if you need to go to an address that you’ve never heard of before, you can easily go there by going to Go There – I mean gothere.sg, of course.
The website if very easy to use. You just need to key in your “from” and “to” destinations and click the “go there” button.
The website will then give you options how to get there which you can choose from according to your preference – by bus only, by train + bus, by taxi or by driving. It will also show you a map on the side. How convenient is that?
