I am not a fan of the taste of milk. I just force myself to drink it because I don’t want to end up with osteoporosis and also to help me lose weight. Yes, that’s right, milk helps you lose weight. I first read about it on Reader’s Digest, but it’s also in this article:
With an increased intake of dairy, you’ll also get the bonus of increased levels of calcium, which can also help you lose weight. How does calcium accomplish this? The general consensus among the studies I reviewed suggests that higher levels of calcium intake, particularly from low-fat sources, help to prevent fat storage, as well as to raise metabolism (the rate at which our bodies burn calories).
I think it’s true. I lost a lot of weight when I first started drinking milk regularly back in 2004. Then I stopped doing so when I came to Singapore because they started triggering my migraine and boom, I’ve gained 10-20 pounds. Could it be a coincidence?
But I digress.
As I was saying, I don’t like the taste or milk at all, so I usually stir in a bit of Yakult or yogurt drink to give it a hint of flavor that I like. Then I discovered Marigold HL. It’s high calcium, high protein, low fat, low in lactose and high on great taste. It has a semisweet cream-like taste that I really really love. Now I can drink milk on its own. Yay! ^_^

i couldn't say na lactose intolerant ako pero if i drink milk every day for a week, i'll have diarrhea, so around 2 – 3 glasses of low fat milk a week is alright. 🙂
