Ok here I go again. Another first day. First day at school, so it seemed. I started my new work today, and we’re in training for three days. Today’s session reminded me of my Accounting classes. Actually, I didn’t like the subject of equities back then; I preferred assets. So I was slightly afraid of what would happen today. Thankfully, I managed to understand the “lessons” and was surprised to find that the student me hadn’t changed at all. Maybe that Yahoo article about how your personality is set for life at first grade is true.
– I still didn’t want to take a seat at the front row because I didn’t want the teacher to call on me.
– When the teacher asked a question and I didn’t know the answer, I still pretended to be busy jotting down notes, hoping she wouldn’t call me.
– I was still afraid to raise my hand even though I knew the answer to the teacher’s question and would rather whisper it to my seatmate, who would then be shocked when my answer turned out to be correct.
– When I had a question, instead of asking the teacher directly, I still directed it to a classmate who would then ask the teacher on my behalf. Or if not, eavesdrop while the teacher helped other students and got the answer through that.
– I was still good at listening and jotting down notes which helped me to understand exactly what the teacher was saying and made me ace the practical exam later.
– I still ended up playing teacher to my seatmate who didn’t understand the lesson.
I had lunch at the pantry with Jemma and Joc, former colleagues of Maya who are her colleagues again here. It’s our first time to be colleagues, though, Maya and I. We were dismissed early, at 5pm. Here is a picture of me and another Filipina batchmate, Nikki, outside our office. Sorry I don’t have a more decent photo of me as our pictorial was interrupted by a call. I’m a lot more formal than usual, eh? Thanks to G2000 for both my top and my skirt. Hehehe.
