Congratulations to me! For the first time in my life, I managed to finish an entire container of lotion or body butter. I’ve never been a lotion person. Since my high school years, Mom kept on buying me lotions and they’d all just gather dust in a corner. But this time, I couldn’t help myself. Sephora’s cranberry lychee body butter has a delicious smell that lasts long. Apparently it’s a bestseller because it’s often out of stock, as my roommate found out tonight. Yes she fell in love with it too and wants to buy one for herself. The first time I wore it, my previous boss remarked, “The office smells so nice! What did you do?” I didn’t know how to tell him that it was not the office but me. Two days later, another colleague remarked on the pleasant smell but this time he was able to guess where the scent came from. I never knew that guys had such a strong sense of smell. @.@
Scents and Skin Stuff
Since we’re on the topic of scents, here’s the perfume I’m currently using – Versace Bright Crystal. I fell in love with it years ago but was only able to buy myself a bottle some months ago at the airport when I was on my way to Manila. The stopper design is so lovely but it makes it so hard to lug the bottle around. @.@
Here are a few more products I’ve started using only recently that I absolutely adore.
Nars blush in orgasm shade has always been raved about as the best powder blush in my favorite Cosmopolitan magazines. I finally asked Maya to buy me one in Rustan’s Makati right before she moved to Singapore. Apparently it’s not being sold here. How weird is that? Anyway, I really love the way it looks on my cheeks and how long-lasting it is. I didn’t like powder blush before and I only used cheek stains till I discovered this. My fingers have been stain-free eversince.
What I hate about Mac lipsticks is that they don’t have a shade that looks right on me. They’re all either too dark or too light. Thank goodness I found a shade that was just right from Chanel – Rouge Coco in Mademoiselle. It was thanks to the saleslady, though. I just told her I wanted a color that was “not too red but not too hot pink” and she gave me this – the perfect shade in just one shot.
When I turned 27, I decided that it was time to moisturize, you know, keep those wrinkles at bay and all that. I tried out Garnier because it has SPF. I’ve been amazed at how I managed to be somewhat consistent with applying it every morning. You see, I’m totally lazy in taking care of my face. Of course I always wash it with a brand I’ve been using since 2003, St Ives apricot scrub, but I don’t tone and moisturize. Worse, my biggest beauty sin is falling asleep without cleaning my face, with makeup and all. My colleague Kim remarked: “You take your skin for granted! You don’t have skin problems so you don’t understand!” She made me feel guilty, haha! So now that I turned 28, I decided to add another skin habit – toner! I grabbed a Nivea Visage sparkling white toner when I passed by Tampines tonight. I know, I’m using three different brands on my face. Good luck on that.

Aveeno by JnJ. hahaha, not that I'm promoting our company's products, but as you know, I have super sensitive skin. It's the only line that has kept me allergy/itch free.

My only gripe is that I can't find a good shampoo, not even Aveeno.
