My Dad has Malaria

Please help pray for my dad’s recovery. He is so far away, by himself in Africa. I feel so helpless and guilty and weepy. He can still email, so that means he will be okay, right? Please tell me I am just overreacting because I love him. =.(

I went to the clinic yesterday for a check-up and told I contracted 2 cases of malaria caused by P.falciparum strain which is responsible for the most severe form of disease, cerebral malaria. I was given medication good for 5 days injection 2x a day and oral good for 10 days.

There are four strains known to be in sub-saharan Africa that infects humans and what I’ve got P.falciparum is severe which accounts for 90% of the deaths.

All my life karon lang ko ka experience ani; pirmi sakit kaayo akong ulo, dunay oras nga may fever ko pero tugnaw kaayo inside and my body is too painful and hard to walk to the bathroom. Wala gana kaon pirmi kasukaon.

On October 19 balik ko sa clinic for assessment.
