Happy Chinese New Year! I spent mine in the office because we don’t follow Singapore holidays, but I had a light workload so it was okay. The day before CNY, though, we were each given the traditional two mandarin oranges plus an ang bao with cash (S$20). Yay! 🙂

To cap off my happy new year, last night we went on an impromptu karaoke session in Party World KTV at the new Nex mall in Serangoon. They’re not as high tech as the ones in Makati, but at least there’s a wide song selection.
It’s only my second time to be in a KTV in Singapore but I enjoyed this session so much more than my first because we sang all english songs this time. Haha.
I didn’t get to eat any of the food except a couple of oranges (I love oranges!) but it’s okay because I managed to hog the mic several times. LOL!
Realization for the night – everyone (in our age bracket anyway) loves to sing boy band songs (from our teenage days anyway). I kept on yelling “I love you Nick!” when we sang Backstreet Boys songs and the video background was the boys’ MTV.
My favorite song of the night was the “Tell Him” duet that Mildred and I performed. Later on, the two of us acted out the lyrics of Britney Spears’s “Sometimes” and Zahira laughed, saying that we had switched from being singers to actors. Haha.
Sooo fun! We will definitely do this again, and often! 🙂
