Birthday Cakes

For the first time in the history of me working, I decided to take a birthday leave! Yahoo!

So… now what? *Crickets chirping*

Aha! I can wax nostalgic and take a look at pictures of my previous birthdays.  (Whew! Crisis avoided.)

My first ever birthday. Obviously I don’t remember anything about it
but the pictures show that my parents invited all the neighborhood kids.
This was probably my last birthday in our first house. I was seven or eight? I was with
my brother, cousins and duplex neighbors. Pardon the picture, Mom wasn’t good at
the camera and kept cutting people’s heads off when she pressed the button. Haha!
This was taken at our second house. I was… ten? Eleven? I was with my
brother, nephews and our ampao business workers’ kids.

When I turned 18, I didn’t have a grand debut. But our family friend Catherine surprised
my family by throwing a catered party for me. She said it was her thanks to my parents
for helping her and her hubby out when they were in a bad situation. I had sore eyes on the day,
haha. I remember my dad making a speech and someone suddenly asked him: “Can she have a
boyfriend now?” to which he replied very seriously: “No, she has to finish her studies first.” LOL!

My first birthday cake as a working girl, given to me by my P&G friends.

My first birthday cakes in Singapore. I had bought the smallest one
because I didn’t think anyone would get me a cake.

In fairness, I seem to have aged gracefully. You’re supposed to agree! It’s my birthday after all! LOL.
