Of Sunnies and Serendipity (and Seriously Ice Cream)

This fine Sunday, my friends Armar, Arlyn, and I decided to head out to Everton Park to look for a cafe to chill in. I had never been there before. It looked like your typical lovely Singapore neighbourhood.

So I was surprised to find that there were a lot of cafes here. There were about four lined up next to each other in one block!

We picked one, but there were no tables available, so we walked out and into the one next door instead.

It was small and pretty, but very warm. Perhaps that was on purpose because their main food is ice cream, which is cold?

We probably should have ordered ice cream, since that’s what their name states they specialise in. Seriously. 

But we were not in the mood for ice cream, so we ordered coffee and carrot cake.

I had an iced mocha which I found to be too bitter for my liking.

I really should’ve gotten an ice cream. 😕

But the trip wasn’t a waste, because aside from selling ice cream, they sell all sorts of knick knacks, too.

While I was looking at their huge collection of sunglasses, I noticed something.

Last August, I had bought reflective green sunnies with white frames in Nice, France, and lost them in Rome. I had lamented that loss and have been trying to look for the same ones in Singapore since then, to no avail.

Until this day!

Okay, so it cost more than twice what I paid for the original sunnies, but I figured it was still less than the price of a ticket to France. 😁

I find it amusing that of all the cafes in all the parks in all of Singapore, I walked into this one. It was almost as if it was serendipity.

Thanks, Universe! Now, how about that boy? 😆
