The Year of the Bags

This is such an amusing experience that I thought it deserved its own post.

I got some really awesome presents for my thirtieth birthday:

Every girl loves scented lotions and perfume. I’m no exception.

I love to wear accessories, and the fact that they’re in my favorite color is just a bonus

Lately I’m into shirts made in this super light cotton material and with nice catchy
words like this. I especially agree with items 1, 7, 19, 31, 40, 42 and 46. 😉
I’m a makeup junkie, and I love everything on here, most especially
the eyeliner which is exactly the eyeliner I’ve been looking for –
it’s a pencil but it’s soft and easy to apply yet doesn’t smudge.

I have a collection of scarves, and this is the most
striking one I have yet. Super love it!

A photography buff like me needs to have a tripod.
I don’t know why I never bothered to buy one before.

But the most amusing part was when I got not one, not two, but four bags! And not just any bags, mind you, but really pretty and pricey bags at that:

The Year of the Bags
Four bags as birthday presents

Okay, so I may have mentioned wanting these bags, but I didn’t really expect that people would go and buy them for me. Here I was, expecting accessories because they’re easy and cheap and which I would have been more than happy to receive, and then this happens. Talk about surpassing expectations. I was pleasantly surprised and extremely grateful.

My friends had me model each one, and how often does a normal girl like me get a chance to be a model, right? So I gladly acquiesced. ;P

Cole Vintage Mariano
A very trendy satchel bag perfect for everyday use. It includes a
buckle fastening, long line adjustable strap and magnetic closure.

Longchamp Le Pliage
The worldwide success of the Le Pliage® line is no accident.
Inspired by the Japanese art of Origami, it was created on an
ingenious principle: a lightweight, foldable bag whatever its
format! Now a cult product on every continent, the Le Pliage®
bag comes in many shapes and colors, from the brightest to the
most sober. Fans of the line love Le Pliage® for its ultra-functional
side, along with its creative spirit that matches any outfit!

Longchamp LM
Originally designed for the Japanese market by Philippe
Cassegrain, the success of this line enabled Longchamp to be
recognized as a ladies’ bag designer and continue its expansion
all over Asia. The current versions “LM Cuir”, “LM Patch”,
“LM Jacquard” and “LM Metal” are emanations of the original
version and all bear the original product codes: precise
reproduction of the logo on the patent leather version with the
historic design depicting small horses and intertwined belts.

Louis Vuitton Speedy 30
Not only is Louis Vuitton one of the most well-known design houses,
but also the Speedy is one of the most iconic handbags of all time.
The Speedy is always in fashion and suitable for a variety of occasions.

Oh, and here’s a picture of me right after we bought the LV, because a girl’s got to have a remembrance snapshot of her first time to buy a designer bag, doesn’t she? 😀

Also, I decided to have the bag hotstamped. Luckily my nickname is in 3 letters, which is the maximum number of letters they can stamp, so I chose that instead of my initials. And so now I can refer to it as my “speedee.” LOL.

The funny thing was, after I received the aforementioned four bags, my other friends got wind of it and gave me a fifth one – a fondant Chanel on one of my birthday cupcakes. Hahaha! The year of the bags indeed! 😀

P.S. This just in! I got one last present in the mail today! It came in a huge package and after I got it from our office receptionist, I opened it right on my desk, seriously not knowing what to expect then tada! It’s the tee that I had asked my friend to buy for me, expecting that he would bring it when he comes around in December. I actually thought that he had already forgotten about it, but instead, he messengers it over. Waaahhh. So touched. I had asked him to buy it because there was a Fashion’s Night Out in Australia. But he said that he ended up buying the tee from US, and that he had a hard time looking for it and very nearly had to buy it from Oscar de la Renta, which would have made the packaging more expensive than the shirt itself. LOL. Good thing he found another online shop that stocked it and it has a pretty box too.

The significance of this shirt, btw, can be seen on below video. I was amazed at the many different ways the different celebrities wore it. Now how do I wear mine? 😀
