One day in Sephora, I was browsing in the eyeliners section when I overheard a conversation between some customers and a saleslady:
This was excellent news for me because that was exactly what I wanted too! The waterline, by the way, refers to the lower inner rim of the eyelid just behind the lash line. Most girls just line above the eyes, but if you want to rock the Kate Middleton look, then you should put eyeliner on the waterline as well.

Now I myself like lining my waterline because it makes my eyes pop. See the difference below. The eye on the right looks better, right?
However I usually forego waterline lining because I know that at the end of the day, this is how I will look like:
That’s because bottom eyeliner smudges like crazy. A former colleague actually once complained to me about this and asked what the solution was. My answer then: don’t line under your eyes! Haha.
Now I know that I can use gel or liquid eyeliner for better staying power, but I don’t really like how those look because they look so harsh and so obviously made up. But now thanks to that saleslady, maybe I can line my waterline using a pencil! So I took a look at what she was recommending and got one for myself – it was a Sephora brand, so it was not so expensive at S$16. I decided on the “keep brown” shade instead of black because I read somewhere that black eyeliner is so harsh-looking and brown looks softer.
I’ve tried the product for several days now and the verdict? I love that its highly pigmented color glides on so easily, which is usually not the case for a pencil liner. It is also long-wearing and stays on for the entire day. It does smudge a bit, however, but not as much as other liners do. Or maybe I’m the one with the problem, I think I rub my eyes and don’t realize it! However, even though it states that it is “waterproof” that is not true. I had it on when I watched Safe Haven and it got smudged when I cried, but still only a little bit. So is it a good buy? Yes, I love it. Thanks, saleslady! I need to eavesdrop more, haha. 😀

I seldom line above the eyes coz my lashes are quite thick (not long, but thick), so they don't really matter much. But whenever i'm in the mood for liner, i always line the waterline. it just looks much better. :)

you're on a roll! i havent been reading blogs lately (crazy work sched), and you're blogging like there's no tomorrow! hahaha! that's a compliment/

By the way, I also like Majolica Majorca's eyeliners. And yeah, brown works more wonders than black. 🙂 try using white too, at the corners of your eyes (near the tear ducts).

How does the pencil opens up after first use? You don’t need to sharpen it because it’s plastica, but i am trying to figure out how to use more! Usually you just turn One side and another but it seems like it doesn’t work on this pencil….

You can sharpen it, too, even though it’s plastic. That’s how I sharpen it.
