Last Friday, I couldn’t find a dress to wear. As I scanned my closet in frustration, my eyes fell on the scarf that I had gotten as a birthday present.
I had worn this scarf before. Maybe I could bust out my LBD and gold bangle necklace again?
Instead, I ended up doing this:
Whenever I got a compliment about what a nice dress I had on, I responded with, “What dress? This isn’t a dress. It’s a scarf.” It was fun to see the look of utter amazement on each face after I said that. I used to dress up my Barbie dolls this way, you see, so it wasn’t really that much of a leap for me. Fashion design was one of my childhood dreams, it seems. And no, it did not fall apart at any point during the day, thank you. I actually even went dancing in a bar in Clarke Quay while in this get up. 😀
