When it comes to watches, I have always preferred the small-faced, delicate ones, with equally dainty straps made of steel – not leather, as I don’t like how those smell when stained with sweat.
I like watches that have pretty crystal studded faces, so pretty that they could double as bracelets, because I so rarely wear those. I don’t know why, I just find them troublesome, I suppose.
I favor watches with hints of both silver and gold, so that they could easily coordinate with whatever other pieces of jewelry I happen to be wearing.
I have also always liked watches which shows the date on its face, because I often forget the date and it’s very convenient to check it from my wrist instead of trying to open the calendar app on my phone.
Well, I found such a watch in a City Chain shop. It was love at first sight.
Solvil et Titus is not a very famous brand, but I don’t care.
I bought the watch for how it looks, not for its name.
But I looked it up nonetheless. It was a Swiss brand founded in 1887, but it is now based in Hong Kong.
It is known for its slogan: “time is love” and also for its touching commercials, like the one below.
I wasn’t too crazy about its mother of pearl face at first, I admit, but now I see that it is part of its beauty and uniqueness.
It’s pretty and dressy and easily matches all of my outfits.
It’s so light and unobtrusive that I have not felt inclined to remove it from my wrist while working, as I tend to do with my other bulkier watches.
It’s perfect.
It’s love.
