Jollibee Singapore {Foodee}

Yahoo, I can do a Filipino food Friday post again!

Jollibee, the most popular fast food joint in the Philippines, recently opened a branch in Singapore, on the 6th floor of Lucky Plaza. I wasn’t able to try it yet because of the ridiculously long lines, as I mentioned in this post.

The separate waiting area. And this was on a Friday at 4pm.
Don’t these people have work?

I have a low tolerance for waiting in queues, so I wasn’t planning on braving that. I just posed with the Jollibee mascot instead.

Fortunately for me, my flatmate was on leave yesterday and she so kindly volunteered to get me some takeaway. I ordered burger steak and spaghetti. My usual back in the Philippines is actually yum (burger) with TLC (tomato, lettuce, cheese) but I dunno why I decided to choose the steak. I just wanted to try the patty I guess.

2pc Burger steak – S$4.50, Spaghetti – S$3
The verdict? Well it tastes just like the Jollibee food back home, yay! …I think. My taste buds can no longer be relied upon because it’s been so long, over a year now. LOL.
My flatmate said she queued for only 30 minutes, and she arrived after lunch. We say “only” because rumor has it that it can take up to 3 hours, during peak times, I guess.
I’ll end this post with this funny picture that’s been making the rounds online for a while now. 😛
UPDATE: I’ve finally been to the restaurant itself. Thrice. In one day. I tried everything on the menu. Read all about it here.

  1. OMG Dee – have never heard of it. So what's the secret to this place's success??

    1. It's quite possibly nostalgia. Most Filipinos grew up having this as a childhood treat. 😀
