On Christmas day, we had lunch at Brian and Elma’s favorite restaurant in Ang Mo Kio Hub – Sticky Rice. It’s a Thai restaurant. Normally I just ignore this place because I am not a fan of sticky rice per se, so I’m glad the two introduced us to it.
Brian and Elma had orange juice and iced tea. The rest of us had softdrinks. I miss fresh dalandan juice. It’s my favorite drink ever.
What is a Thai resto without curry? Not a Thai resto at all. Green curry is the mildest curry. There are also yellow and red curries which are spicier. I normally hate curry (that’s why I can’t stand Indian food) except the Thai ones.
This is my favorite – the honeystung chicken. I especially loved the dip that came with it, which is not in the picture. I dipped all of the other food in it. It was red and spicy-sweet. I think Filipinos must be the nationality that loves sweet meats the most. We mix sugar in our spaghetti sauce, after all.
Chicken wrapped in pandan leaves tasted like fish to me. I’m sure it didn’t really, and fish consistency is so different from chicken, but pandan always reminds me of fish. I wonder why.
I forgot the name of this thing. But whatever it was, it was good too. I dipped it in the honeystung chicken’s dip because I hate mayonaise. I’m weird like that. Most of my friends love mayo and always ask for it to mix in their ketchup for sauce or spread it on their food but I can’t stand it. That’s why I don’t eat macaroni salad even though my dad always made a batch every new year for his birthday feast and I helped make it.

I'm glad you liked the food there…<br />The green curry and pandan chicken are my fave. Hope we can eat somewhere we've not been to yet. Then act like Amanda Griffin in "F" (if my memory serves me right).
