Well hello there, weight loss buddies! 🙂
Last month’s thinspiration interview was so well received that I thought it would be a good idea to do another one.
This time around, I found blogger Kate @ Relokate (formerly known as Fat to Fit Geek). I was so inspired when I read her weight loss story that I just had to interview her! Thanks so much, Kate, for obliging! I can only hope to be as successful as you someday.

When did you start with your weight loss journey? What made you embark on it?
I was really depressed and unhappy with myself for a long time. Almost out of the blue one day, I decided to just get up and do a workout DVD. From that moment onwards I was determined I was going to try to lose weight because I knew that was what was making me so unhappy.
What are your motivations for losing weight?
My happiness. It’s not that I feel like I need to be skinny to be happy, I just want to love myself and the skin I am in which is something I never have until now.
Who are your thinspirations?
Jennifer Lawrence! She is so beautiful and looks like a real woman, I wrote a whole post on why we should all use her as fitspiration.
What was your weight loss goal and how long did it take you to achieve it?
My goal was to get down from around 77kgs to 60kgs. After I hit 60kgs, I decided to go down to 57kgs where I am now sitting at a weight I am comfortable with. In total, I have lost 20kgs to date which is 44lbs for anyone working in pounds!
It took me from October 2012 to July 2013 to hit 57kgs with two small plateau periods which set me back about month all together. I think 20kgs is a decent amount for 10 months, especially if you want to lose the weight in a healthy manner.
What were your methods for achieving that loss? Please share your tips!
I used the calorie counting method and I swear by it, there is plenty of different apps and methods out there for everyone – it’s the easiest and healthiest way to lose weight and keep it off. If you follow a fad diet, you are at a much higher risk of gaining all the weight back whereas calorie counting teaches you about portion control and good foods vs. bad foods.
Alongside this, exercise, exercise, exercise. Get your butt of the chair and get moving!
How do you feel now that you’ve lost weight? Any changes aside from the physical aspect?
I feel amazing and there has been more changes mentally than physically. My whole outlook on life is so positive whereas before I always saw myself as a pessimist. I am a lot more relaxed and don’t take three hours to get ready anymore, I feel great!
Any last inspiring words?
Your mind gives up before your legs do, so keep running!
If Kate’s story inspired you, you might want to read more about her in her blog. She’s a traveling British girl who is currently living in Frankfurt, Germany, and she has lived in 5 countries in 1.5 years! Wow, I wish I had her life (as well as her weight). Hop on over and say hi!
I love that her fitspiration is Jennifer Lawrence, because she’s mine, too! Kate mentions in her blog that you should find someone with the same body type as you to admire and aspire to, and I happen to have the same hourglass figure as both J Law and Kate, so I’m on the right track. How about you, do you know your body type? Who are you admiring who has the same body type as you? Let me know in the comments! 🙂
