Today is Thor’s day! Did you know that Thursday was named after Thor? So I thought it fitting to blog about Thor today, this being his day and all. Ahem.
I am a huge fan of the Avengers movies and I got infatuated with Thor during the first movie and kept gushing about him then. Now it was my friend’s turn. LOL.
I really enjoyed the movie even though I must admit that I found the plot to be a bit too… umm… strange? There was just enough action so as not to bore me, the special effects were phenomenal, especially the ones they used in creating Asgard and the other planets, there was a bit of romance, and a lot of comedy. Witty lines always have me sold, in movies, TV shows, books, real life. And this has it. Lots of them. The entire cinema was laughing at various moments throughout the movie, and I think the funniest ones were the scenes with Thor and Loki. And oh – there were also a couple of scenes that had me in tears.
Yes, Loki is back, but this time he is not the enemy. There is a new bad guy, a dark elf named Malekith, whom Thor needs to defeat in order to save his eathling love Jane, who is also back, yes. Or maybe I should say it’s Thor who was back, since he was the one who left her back in part 1. They had quite a funny reunion (which is probably how Sherlock and John’s will go too, but I digress).
One more thing I loved – seeing Max from the TV show Two Broke Girls! She acts exactly the same way she does in that show.
Stay until ALL the credits have rolled. There are two after movie scenes and we missed out on the second, more important one because we thought the first one was it! Dammit, Marvel. You and your after movie credits.
And that is the end of the spoiler-free zone. So if you’re planning to watch the movie and hate spoilers, bye bye and come back when you’ve seen it, okay? Because I’m sure you’ll wanna talk about it, especially after that ending, and I love discussing movies!
Yes, that is a modified line from Game of Thrones. It just seems fitting for that picture, doesn’t it?
Okay, now on to the discussion!
My favorite scenes in the movie involved Loki. I laughed so much at that scene when he and Thor are walking out of his prison and trying to be inconspicuous and he uses his powers of illusion to shapeshift to all sorts of people, including Captain America. Then when he turned Thor into a girl and “she” spoke in a booming voice? Lost it.

The Captain America impression was so funny! Loki was such a scene stealer. I thought the plot was kind of flimsy and really built around that surprise ending, but the special effects were cool. Although it's weird to have battles with spaceships and blasters against swords, shields, and spears.

the walk scene was my fave too! So much wit and humour in this part. Cant wait for Captain America in April now!

I actually gasped out loud at the ending for Thor with Loki. I kind of saw it coming and I kind of didn't. And I teared up when he 'died' as well D: Captain America scene was just grade A funny, lol.

- Chynna
http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/3324871/the-invisible-child

Yay, I'm not the only one. I'm excited to see the Cap again too!

Yes, exactly, the plot was flimsy, especially the way they resolved the darkness thingie. Haha Asgard is kinda weird coz it is old world and high tech at the same time. Oxymoron much?

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who cried when he "died." That ending was gasp-worthy indeed.
