Here I am again with a hodge podge of stuff that happened over the week.
* We went and checked out Jefrey’s new cute one bedroom flat and had a sleepover. We watched movies on demand on his new smart TV. I was happy to rewatch two of my favorites – Frozen and About Time, and I cried again for both. Oops. Gay and I also couldn’t help but belt along to the songs. Sorry, Maya and Jeff! The third movie we watched was Argo, which I hadn’t seen before. I was impressed with how realistically 80’s it looked and felt. Also, Maya and I were chewing off our fingernails at the suspense as the story unfolded. No wonder it won an Oscar for best movie last year.
* We discovered Bench in Singapore! It’s in Metro City Square Mall. Bench is a Philippine clothing line which is quite popular because it’s affordable. They also have scents and makeup back home but they don’t have them here, which is disappointing because I really love their lip and cheek stain.
* We had dinner at the Food Republic (which Jeff wrongly referred to as Food Paradise, the name of a popular restaurant in our hometown). I loved the design, which they patterned after real life houses in Clarke Quay. I also loved the food. We all had different kinds of noodles that night, then the next day for lunch we had ayam penyet or smashed grilled chicken with a delicious barbecue sauce.
* I watched the Academy Awards on Sunday night and got such a crazy craving for pizza thanks to the part when Ellen ordered it for the stars. So even though it was past 9pm, I decided to go out and have some at the Domino’s Pizza parlour in our neighbourhood. By myself. Thank goodness they have solo meals available and that it’s safe in Singapore. A couple of days later, I got my “visitor.” I should’ve known!
* We had to go on overtime on Monday and I ordered a roast chicken dinner. I was so shocked when it arrived and I saw how huge it was. I asked my team mates if they wanted any, and they said no. When one of them asked if I wanted to try his pasta, which was delicious, I replied, “Sorry… but I have a chicken situation right now.” I kind of felt like Joey in that Friends episode when he had to eat a whole turkey.
* My team mate Mei Ling brought us tom yum flavoured pretzel sticks from Bangkok and it’s surprisingly delicious.
* I decided to hop on the #100happydays bandwagon on Instagram so I can purposefully look for something to be happy about each day and make being happy a habit. If you’re on Instagram, let’s be friends!
And that’s all I could think of at the moment. How has your week been? Hope it’s been good!
Yay for food and shopping adventures! <br />I STILL have not seen Frozen. I feel so out of the loop . . . I need to remedy this . . .
Oh Dee…Dee, Dee. Dee… The film "About Time' – love, LOVE, love it.
Sounds fun! I recently watched frozen and teared up a little too!
You need to! It's really great, you'll love it. (I hope.)
I love, LOVE, love it too!!! So heartbreakingly beautiful.
It does have that effect on a lot of people!
Ok I laughed out loud at your chicken thing and my husband just looked over and gave me the weirdest look
Haha! Well I'm sorry about his reaction but glad for yours. 😛
