Happiness is…

Venus Trapped in Mars
  1. Chocolates. It is scientifically proven to boost your mood.

    2. When you are asked to be part of someone’s wedding entourage, because it means you are important to someone. (This happened twice to me this week. I will be secondary sponsor and maid of honor. I feel so honored!)

    3. Taking the perfect picture.

    4. A beautiful view, like a vast expanse of blue sky or a beach.

    5. Birthday surprises, whether you’re on the giving or receiving side of them.

    6. Discovering that someone kept something you gave them a long time ago. That you touched someone’s life, even in that small way.

    7. Makeup.

    8. Hang outs or conversations with loved ones. Especially ones that involve hearty laughter.

9. Accessories, like scarves and jewelry.

10. Reading a good book or article.

11. Watching a great television show or movie (especially if it’s on a lazy boy chair in a luxury cinema).

12. Falling in love (in real life or with men on screen or paper).

13. Snuggling in bed on a rainy day.

14. Wearing your favorite flattering outfit.

15. Travel.

16. Petting a kitty or a puppy. Or just looking at cute animal pics.

17. New experiences.

18. Bubble baths.

19. A dream coming true, even a simple one like being able to buy something that you couldn’t afford to before.

20. Discovering a connection with someone.

21. Impromptu overnights.

22. Shopping or window shopping. Wandering aimlessly through a store and just looking at everything on display and mentally filing stuff into your “maybe someday” shopping cart.

23. Sleeping in on weekends.

24. Flowers. Like these flowering trees that are all over Singapore right now.

25. Getting an unexpected compliment.

26. Lunch breaks that give you time to relax and take a breather before diving in to work again.

27. Finding the perfect gift for someone and the look of happiness on their face as they open it. Or just making someone else happy, in whatever way.

28. Losing weight.

29. Celebrating milestones, such as my 9th bloggy birthday. Have you joined my giveaway?

30. A fragrant scent, like your favorite perfume or body lotion or potpourri or the smell of freshly laundered clothes.

31. The color purple.
