Here is how to pull off a surprise bridal shower. Follow our example of how we did it for our friend Monica.
First we made sure that she was free by inviting her and her fiancee Nantoy to “Mildred’s birthday party.”
I had recently won a $100 voucher from winning an instagram contest held by Foodpanda.sg, an awesome online food delivery service.
So I used said voucher to buy our food from Wingzone. I chose the 50 wings party pack and chose these three flavours – buffalo bliss, tokyo dragon, and garlic parm. They all tasted delicious but the clear favourite was tokyo dragon, which was the first one finished. We also had mozzarella sticks, fries, carrots & celery, and brownie bites. The brownie bites were solo good! Everyone kept exclaiming about how yummy it was.
After everyone was done eating, some of us retreated into the kitchen to prepare our makeshift kinky cake – just an ordinary cake topped off with a banana and whipped cream “balls.”
Then we walked into the dining room area and yelled “SURPRISE!!!” while handing Monica the cake and pulling a “veil” over her head. (The “veil” is actually a skirt I had found in Bugis.) Monica and Nantoy were both so surprised. Ha! Success!
Then it was time for the first part of the program, which was a “how well do you know your partner?” game. We had Nantoy and Monica sit on opposite ends of the couch and handed them pens and pieces of paper. We asked them questions about each other or their relationship which they both had to answer. If their answers don’t jive, they had to take a shot of wine.
When I shot the first question – “Where was your first official date?” – Nantoy had a look of utter consternation on his face. Hahaha! They couldn’t agree on a few questions and had to take some 5 or more shots. LOL!
Nantoy sat the next activity out but acted as judge instead. I took out rolls of tissue and told the girls that they had to design – nope, not wedding dresses, which is the common one, but lingerie! They were actually not supposed to be worn, but Nantoy said it would look better worn, and so…
We designed lingerie on each other because it’s hard to put it on yourself, right? My eyebrow-raising design on Jemma (far left, bottom) won, because it was the sexiest hahahaha. I mean look at that panty line! LOL!
Our next game involved bananas and whipped cream. We broke the group into pairs. One sat down with a whipped creamed banana between his/her legs while their partner had to eat said banana as fast as she could.
This was pretty funny and fun to watch! Mildred won the round. 😀
And of course since this is a bridal shower, we had to have a stripper, so I found a bunch of them… on YouTube. But I completely forgot all about it and did not play the video! Oh well. Maybe at the next bridal shower?
We ended the event with monopod selfies centred around the bride & groom to be.
That last pic was supposed to be us posing like in a wedding shot, where the couple is kneeling in front of the church with their guests on the pews behind them! It kinda looks like it, right? Right???
Okay, just me, then.
Well that was the end of the surprise bridal shower, but definitely not the end of the night because unbeknownst to the couple, another surprise was still coming… this time, a surprise stag party!
