I had Christmas dinner with my hometown friends at a lovely child-friendly cafe in the east last night.
They had it beautifully decorated for Christmas with a huge Christmas tree complete with Christmas songs blasting from the speakers.
There was a lot of space for kids to run around. Karl (Carlo and Kris’s kid) happily dug into the sand, carried hula hoops, made friends with a dog, and jumped into a huge bouncy castle. Unfortunately it was deflated at around 6pm so Bryce didn’t get to play in it.
Bryce is Brian and Elma’s three year old boy and he’s probably the funniest kid I have ever met. When they arrived, he felt shy and hid behind his mom’s back. 😂

Eventually he got over it and even passed around their family’s Christmas presents to us.
The food was quite good. Elma and I each got the chuckloin steak from the blackboard menu. It was soft and flavourful.
Brian ordered a calzone and was shocked at how big it was.
It was not like our usual Christmas parties which involved themes and games, but this was nice and chill. I’m glad we had a chance to catch up over the holidays.
