For a lot of people, seeing the Sakura or cherry blossoms in full bloom in Japan is #thedream. Honestly, this was never in my bucket list, but because I have #FOMO, I went to see the cherry blossoms, even if it was right here on Singapore soil. ๐ธ๐ฌ
Last March, more than 20 varieties of cherry blossoms ๐ธ ๐ธ were planted in the Gardens by the Bay Flower Dome.
I asked my friend Arlyn to join me, so we bought tickets which were discounted because we are Singapore residents and discounted further because we were Watsons members – which was certainly surprising.
I would like to take a moment to be grateful to Arlyn, by the way, who still makes time for me even though she already has a boyfriend. My other friend Mildred told me the other day about how she was amazed about that. Most friends quit making time for you the moment they have a love life. Or they still see you, but the boyfriend also needs to be there, which is fine, sometimes, but not all the time. Sometimes you just want to spend time with your friend, and you can’t be as open if there’s somebody else there, you know? Of course I don’t mean this about Arlyn’s brother Armar, who is also my friend, so that’s different.
So I am just super super grateful for Arlyn, because not all friends are like her. Trust me.
Sorry that got off track.
Back to the cherry blossoms.
They were breathtakingly beautiful! I am really glad I got a chance to see them, really happy that Singapore brought them over so we could enjoy them even though we don’t have spring here.
Wow, didn’t expect this to turn out to be a gratitude post, but, there you go! ๐
