My parents flew back to the Philippines after spending a few months with my brother and his family in the USA, so I decided to meet them for a short vacation in Coron, Palawan, before they headed back to their home.
Sunz En Coron Resort
I booked a hotel room for us at Sunz En Coron Resort.
Sunz en Coron Resort has its own swimming pool flanked by cute thatched roof huts.
The room and breakfast is decent, and the resort is accessible by car or tricycle. My only gripe is that the wifi went down and there was no Globe signal.
Town Tour with Maquinit Hot Spring
I didn’t make any advance bookings but grabbed a few tour flyers from the airport once we landed, and booked from one of them.
Since I was with two senior citizens, I couldn’t book anything too tiring, so I decided to book the town tour with Maquinit Hot Spring (cost: P650 per pax) for the first day.
I wouldn’t recommend travelling in August because it’s usually rainy, as was the case when we were there. As a result, the town wasn’t photogenic.
But the gloomy weather was perfectly fine for Maquinit Hot Spring. The spring emptied into a huge pool which was hot and perfect for the weather.
Island Hopping: Malcapuya, Banana, Bulog
For the second day, I booked a three-island hopping tour so that it’s not super tiring for senior citizens (and me, if I may be honest). We were picked up at our hotel and we drove to the dock where we boarded a small ferry boat that brought us to Malcapuya, Banana, and Bulog islands. Luckily, the sun came out the next day so we managed to have good photos this time!
It’s too difficult to pick the best pics so I’ll just dump all scenery pics as a gallery.
Super happy I had the chance to finally visit Palawan, which is one of the most popular tourist spots in the Philippines!
