My friend Ashley was craving for samgyupsal, so she, May, Precious and I had dinner at Myung Ga Korean Restaurant at the 27th floor of iSquare in Tsim Sha Tsui on Friday night. I thought I would get lost when trying to find it, but the mall was directly outside the MTR exit R.
We ordered a couple of sets for 2 pax, set A and B. To be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with the food. I’ve had more flavourful Korean barbecue from other restaurants. But it wasn’t terrible, just not the best.
I had a lot of fun chatting with the ladies, though.
I mentioned in a previous blog post that we don’t know each others’ love lives, so I decided to change that. Each one of us talked about past stories, either ex partners or how they met and fell in love with their current ones.
We got so engrossed that we moved our conversation up to 30th floor at Eyebar, over a couple bottles of wine – Moscato D’asti and Cava. This bar is well known for its rooftop seating with a fantastic view of the harbour. Unfortunately, it was incredibly foggy, so the view wasn’t as great that night.
It was also very cold from up high, which we thought was funny considering how we were complaining about how warm it was earlier that night.
When it became too cold, I asked if we could move inside. So we did just that, and finished our stories from a table indoors.
Even though I haven’t told my stories of heartache in a while, it did feel good to share it. I felt like we were closer than before. I’m glad we had this moment.
