It’s once again cold in Hong Kong, and I realize I have very little experience with cold weather, even after having spent 4 winters here. Winters here do not involve snow, but the humidity here makes it colder. That means, 10 degrees celsius here is colder than 10 degrees in drier countries. This morning I […]
Pinoy Christmas Party 2023
Our Christmas party was held at our friend Beulah’s flat. We ordered Filipino food from Bedanas and The Fat Kusina. We thought TFK’s food were all delicious, especially the palabok. We ordered way too much and had to “Sharon” (from the lyrics “balutin mo ako…”) or take home a lot of leftovers at the end […]
Lu LuWan Shanghai Private Kitchen
This week we had our office quarterly event at a Shanghai private kitchen called Lu LuWan. The food was delicious, though I would have preferred if the pasta was not cold noodles.
Santacon Hong Kong 2023
On December 9, Saturday, I joined Santacon, an annual pub crawl in which people dressed in Santa Claus costumes or as other Christmas characters parade in several cities around the world. There were several meetup points which they posted on the Facebook page. I joined them at Staunton’s Wine Bar & Cafe in Central. We […]
The Peninsula Afternoon Tea on the Harbour
On Sunday, I joined some ladies on The Peninsula Afternoon Tea aboard the World Star Ferry and we ended up having so much fun! I expected just your standard afternoon tea in a prim and proper environment, but did not know that there would be a band on the boat. They played some lively tunes […]
The Holiday @ The Grounds
I watched the movie The Holiday on The Grounds outdoor cinema with my friends May, Beulah, and Ashley. We chose comfy seats (not the basic one), ordered food to be delivered to our pod, and settled down to watch the classic Christmas movie with headphones on – we needed this because the Clockenflap music festival […]
Singapore Visit
I had expiring Singapore Airlines miles, so I decided to use it to visit friends and work from the Singapore office for 10 days in November. Highlights: Then and Now Pics We had fun recreating pics from the past. My favorite is the one where we even got the background people to be in the […]
Sai Kung
Over the weekend, my friends and I had a yummy lunch at Michelin-starred restaurant Loaf On in Sai Kung. We had a bit of trouble looking for the restaurant for some reason. All the food we ordered was yummy and fresh. Our favourite was the breaded oysters. After that, we walked around and enjoyed the […]
Halloween Junk Boat Party
At the last minute, I decided to join a Halloween-themed junk boat party in Sai Kung, dressed in my usual costume – The Devil Wears Prada. It was really fun! I’m glad I caught one last junk boat party this year before it became too cold for one. They really are my most favourite things […]
Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery
I climbed the Ten Thousand Buddhas monastery at Sha Tin with Mindy, my former Singapore colleague who was in Hong Kong for vacation. It was the perfect weather for this adventure – 21 degrees. Don’t try this during Hong Kong summer heat & humidity!
