Twitterpated

Okay, so I so totally stole that word from @Flisha’s blog but I hope she doesn’t mind so much as I’m giving her credit for it. Teehee. It is so the appropriate word to describe my addiction to Twitter. I actually joined Twitter back in February 2008, thanks to @Jessemonggo’s insistence. Back then it wasn’t that popular as it is now, and so I lost interest and didn’t really update it until @JosephLou recommended I use the Tweetdeck application. I downloaded it and got hooked. I got even more so when I bought my new Nokia E63 cellphone which allows me to surf the net anywhere (or at least anywhere there’s 3G or wifi).

I’m still getting used to its teeny tiny QWERTY keys and there are some features I loved in my old Nokia 6300 that I wish were present here, such as the ability to insert numbers from my phonebook into my message. But aside from that, I love that I can now tweet from the MRT, the bus, while having lunch, or even while in Malaysia (which I will blog about after this) through the Snaptu mobile application I found. Isn’t it sooo cool? I only wish more of my friends were active in Twitter, though. So far I find myself exchanging tweets with a handful of the same people – Flisha, Jotie, Raul, Cel, Weng, and Jirbie. I guess everyone else, like me before, thinks that Twitter is not as fun as Facebook. But now I find myself updating my tweets a lot more than Facebook. I just think Twitter is more suitable for people who like to think out loud a lot. You can post as many thoughts as you want without fear of ostrasizing yourself because Twitter is meant for that unlike in Facebook, where I always fear that people get irritated when someone posts too many status updates. And these tweets are like mini-blogs that are easy to look back on. Like take some of my earliest tweets which amused me much when I read them again now:
