Her parents got a letter from him. A picture of him and her had been printed out with his words written at the bottom. He said he loved her very much. That she knew him above everyone else. That it was her hand that he held when he was in difficult times. His hand that he planned to ask for soon. Her mother breaks into tears. And so does her sister when she tells her over the webcam.
She flew home to see him, not suspecting what was in store for her. He said they were having dinner at Lighthouse Restaurant. She said it was too expensive, why don’t they just eat at Gerry’s. He told her he had already made reservations and not to protest anymore. She still did not suspect. When they got there, the chef knew him. She wondered why. She still did not suspect. Their table was bedecked in a special table cloth. And there was some sort of design on it. She still did not suspect. Then after some wine, he excused himself to go to the men’s room. When he came back, it was not to their table, but to sing a couple of songs with the restaurant’s band. One of those songs is their theme song “That’s All.” She still did not suspect. He has a nice voice, so the customers clamor for more, but he says no then walks towards her. And gets down on one knee. And asks her to marry him. And the tears stream down her face, and words can’t get out of her mouth. And he asks her to answer. And finally, she says yes. And the restaurant erupts in cheers.
Congrats, Punch and Chi! So happy for you both! 🙂
