Of course, no trip to Singapore is complete without a visit to the Merlion, so we brought my mom and my roommates’ family to meet the famous water-spouting icon of Singapore. Chi said she wanted to meet my mom, so I invited her to dinner with us. AA also came. We had dinner first in Lau Pa Sat where I saw a new stall – Bahay Inasal. So I bought chicken inasal for Mom and me. Delicious! Chi bought her favorite Provence chocolate rolls for our families while AA treated them to Magnum ice cream. So sweet of them! Thanks again you two!
Afterwards, we walked towards the bus stop and rode a bus to the Merlion Park. It was close enough to walk, but oldies easily get tired so we had to make adjustments. What fascinated Mom above everything else she had seen so far, though, were the Bougainvillea bushes in full bloom. And we just happened to be wearing the exact same color as the flowers.

My mom really enjoyed talking to Chi almost the entire night. She knows her because she’s my high school classmate and for some reason, my mom knows my high school classmates better than my college ones. Must be because of the PTA meetings where she got to know their parents.
Anyway, nobody got too exhausted and we had lots of good food and good pictures, so the night was a success. Yey!
