Apparently May is high school batch reunion month because my classmate Janine and my batchmate Julius both came to Singapore for a vacation, though not together. For both, it was our second time to meet them here in Singapore. Ja came here with her bestfriend Marjorie back in 2008 while Julius visited his sister here about a year ago, give or take a few days.
We met Ja and Rob last Saturday for dinner at BaliThai in Ion Orchard. Anne also brought her sister Aiko who is on vacation here too. We had so much fun chatting that we extended it to coffee at Spinelli and only went home when they shooed us out because it was closing time. I really enjoyed the conversation! And it was funny to note that all the people we talked about were somehow connected, like one of those tangled-storylines movies such as Love Actually.
Last night we headed to 7107 Flavours at Marina Square to meet Julius. Since Julius works in Kuwait, he was extremely happy to be reunited with Filipino food… and pork. So were we. My throat hurt so much from all the talking. And from all the laughing because of the bloopers (pronto kanta el parents instead of kansa and kelan kayo kinasal instead of pinanganak, for example).
