When I suggested going on an overnight with my friends Drew and Kes while I was on vacation there, Drew said he had a free voucher for a night’s stay in The Peninsula Manila hotel, so off we went!
The Manila Pen is a 5-star hotel, so it’s really spiffy and beautiful. I highly recommend it! It’s not my first time to stay there, though, Drew and I have stayed there in the past; we used his P&G discount to get good rates.

And here are pictures of us!
Somehow, the above pictures reminded me of our “girls night out” six years ago, when we’d had dinner and watched a movie about robbers (Fun with Dick and Jane) before crashing in Keso’s condo for the night. These were our pictures then:
This time around, we had late lunch at Ihop, wandered around the new SM Aura (which was nothing extraordinary), and finally watched a movie about robbers, Now You See Me, before crashing in the hotel for the night.
I’m happy to realize that though lots of things change (our age, our locations, our marital statuses – Keso’s, anyway), some things remain the same. We still love being (not so) young and happy. 🙂
