Yesterday we spent the afternoon and evening in Orchard. We met up at Lucky Plaza and had a very OFW couple of hours – Pinoy food lunch, PAG-IBIG registration, then remittance. I brought them to Happy V, Singapore’s Jollibee rip-off. They were very happy with the food, especially the sweet spaghetti.
Then we brought out the cake we had brought for Jemma, whose birthday was last Thursday. They were all very happy about the cake cutter, the same reaction that I got the first time I came here. All cakes in Singapore come with a cake cutter, candles with candle holders, and a happy birthday sign.
After finishing our business in Lucky Plaza, we went across the street to Ion, my favorite mall. We walked around inside it and out. When we got to the sidewalk, we bought some “dirty ice cream” which came in blocks and ate them while sitting on a bench and listening to a live band performing in one of the bars. A bunch of people passed by giving out racing flags, and some more were in costumes, dancing for Hari Raya. We eventually stood up and walked on down the road, and they were amazed that there were so many malls.

The others had to leave and go elsewhere, leaving us college classmates to have dinner in Swensen’s. Can I just say that I totally love their super fudge malt milkshake? We spent approximately 30 minutes eating our food and 3 hours talking. Haha. The conclusion of which boils down to this: peace of mind is bliss. 🙂
